July Perennials

July Perennials

Most of the garden bloomed within the month of July. The majority of these perennials are full sun/partial shade, with the exception of the Ohio Spiderwort which requires full shade (listed last). If you’re interested in growing these perennials in your own garden, you’ll want to make sure you live in climate zones 5-9, as that is the general requirement for the flowers listed below. I live in growing zone 6a; you can check your growing zone here.

Being a new gardener, It’s been a really fun experience watching them grow and identifying each one, especially since I didn’t plant them myself. July brought so much color and life to the garden.

This summer has been hot. The grass, ferns, and ground cover (Creeping Jenny) have taken a beating from the high temperatures.

I can’t wait to see what August will bring.
