A Spring Garden-Inspired Table
What better way to savor a spring garden than by inviting it to the table
Spring is such a vibrant and beautiful time in my garden. After the yellow and cream daffodils have passed, a sea of pink emerges in all different shades and heights: a pink flowering dogwood, magenta, rose, and hot pink colored azaleas, pink and lavender rhododendrons, and a few pink groundcovers. I am surrounded by pink from April until May, with absolutely no regrets. Most of these plants are early bloomers and begin to fade near the middle of May. In efforts of celebrating these blooms for as long as possible, I created a spring garden-inspired table for an alfresco girls night.
Materials used to make a spring garden table
To create this tablescape I used pink dogwood, rhododendron yedoense, azalea royal pink, and bunches of lavender wax flowers I had leftover from a wedding project the weekend before. I also used a few trimmings from my cherry laurel for some color contrast. The bright green and glossy leaves are so gorgeous I just couldn’t resist.
Material wise, I used a vine-wrapped wire to attach the branches to the rod, then added water tubes to keep them hydrated until evening. The rod already had grapevine and string lights attached to it; more on that here. For me, this project was completely free!
Setting the table
To keep the pink theme going, I served a grapefruit spritzer garnished with dried rose petals and a charcuterie board paired with a rosé. The table was set with rose gold tea lights, Parisian napkins, and bud vases of ranunculus. It was the perfect setting for enjoying the last of the spring blooms on the patio with a dear friend; a perfect girls night.
If you’re looking for a spring tablescape idea, consider looking for further than your own backyard.
